Abstract
Few patients have been described with acute ischemic stroke as the initial clinical presentation of primary Sjogren's Syndrome (SS). We report two young women with primary SS presented with acute ischemic stroke. They have suffered from dry mouth and eyes for several years. Biopsy of the minor salivary gland showed chronic sialoadenitis. In addition, specific autoimmune antibodies (anti-Ro, anti-La) and ophthalmologic evaluation revealed the SS. SS should be considered among the causes of stroke, especially in young female patient. KeyWords:Sjogren's syndrome, Acute ischemic stroke
